Zakay Law Group’s very own attorney, Shani Zakay, was invited recently to speak at the A.I.M. for Law – Youth Conference in San Diego, California.

A.I.M. for Law is a program that helps college students prepare for the law school application process and their first year in law school.  The program targets students from underrepresented communities.  As part of the program, students learn how to apply to law school and how to pay for it.  Students also learn how to write a good personal statement and how to prepare for the LSAT exam.   Finally, students learn what they might expect from their first year in law school.

A.I.M. for Law offers these college students an opportunity to speak to attorneys and law students, visit law schools and law firms, and develop relationship with local attorneys.  The program is free and is offered annually in California.

In preparation for the A.I.M. for Law program, high school students were recently invited to the California Western School of Law in San Diego, California, to the A.I.M. for Law Youth Conference.  The Youth Conference offers high school students insight into the legal profession before they even attend college.  The Youth Conference includes an attorney panel where attorneys from different sectors of the legal profession speak to the high school students and answer their questions.  Attorney Shani Zakay was invited to be part of the panel.

During the panel discussion, Attorney Shani Zakay talked to the students about his practice and the work he performs, as well as some ethical issues he sometimes runs into.  Along with 5 other successful lawyers, Attorney Shani Zakay encouraged the students to work hard towards goals and maintain their interest in the legal profession.

Zakay Law Group and its team believe a good law firm must work hard for both its clients and its community.  For that reason, Zakay Law Group is always happy to contribute to its local community, and especially the community’s youth.
